Zach Mettenberger jokes he went to rehab for selfie addiction

Zach Mettenberger selfies

Sunday’s rematch between the Tennessee Titans and Houston Texans will be a chance for Zach Mettenberger to get revenge on JJ Watt over their selfie exchange. The good news is the rookie quarterback has a sense of humor about the whole thing and says he is no longer taking selfies.

“I was just addicted to it, I guess. I put myself in a rehab program,” Mettenberger joked via The Tennesseean. “And now that I’ve quit I feel like I am a much better person.”

Mettenberger faced the Texans in Week 8 and was mocked by Watt, who sacked him twice and pretended to take a selfie as a celebration. That was Watt’s way of taking a shot at Mettenberger, who received lots of attention for posting selfies on Twitter.

For his part, Watt said he was surprised at all the attention the selfie scandal received.

“I think that definitely got blown up more than I expected it to be,” Watt said. “I guess I should have expected it with today’s world, but somebody asked me a question after the game and I answered it. That’s all there was to it. It’s football.”

Please, Watt. Like you don’t know doing that or sending pizzas to the local police is going to receive attention. Now I can’t wait to see what Watt does after his next sack of Mettenberger.
