Golfer Grayson Murray apologized on Twitter Thursday for sending an inappropriate tweet to a young girl a day earlier.
Murray sent his original tweet to a girl on Wednesday. In the tweet, Murray said he hated the fact that the girl was in high school because she’s “pretty.” Here’s a look at the tweet, which has been deleted.

After Murray’s tweet started generating headlines, the golfer decided to respond. He sent the following apology on Thursday:

The 23-year-old recently earned his PGA Tour card and has one top-10 finish on tour. As of now, more people will know about him for this tweet than for anything he’s done on the course.
