Race officials: No record of Tiger Woods having tooth knocked out
Tiger Woods is missing a tooth, but the way he lost the chicket has come into question.
On Sunday, some photos surfaced that showed Woods hiding behind a facemask while watching his girlfriend Lindsey Vonn’s race in Italy. It later became clear that Woods was probably hiding the fact that he needs dental work, as one of his front teeth is currently missing.
So how did this happen? Tiger’s agent claims a media member accidentally hit Woods in the mouth with a camera and knocked the tooth out.
“During a crush of photographers at the awards podium at the World Cup event in Italy, a media member with a shoulder-mounted video camera pushed and surged toward the stage, turned and hit Tiger Woods in the mouth,” Mark Steinberg told the Associated Press in an email. “Woods’ tooth was knocked out by the incident.”
That should be the end of the story, but it’s not. The bizarre thing about all this is that race organizers say the incident was not reported to them and that Tiger had requested extra security and his request was granted.
“I was among those who escorted him from the tent to the snowmobile and there was no such incident,” Nicola Colli, the secretary general of the race organizing committee, told The Associated Press. “When he arrived he asked for more security and we rounded up police to look after both him and Lindsey.”
As we mentioned before, there have long been rumors that Tiger lost a tooth when his ex-wife Elin Nordegren found out he had been cheating on her and went after him. Tiger was beaten up pretty badly at the time, so it’s possible Nordegren gave him a whooping. While we can’t verify that, we do know that the same front tooth that Tiger is now missing has been discolored for a while. You can see photo proof of that here.
Something doesn’t add up here.
