Sergio Garcia played most of the final round of The Open Championship on Sunday without a driver, but that was not his plan at the start of the day.
Garcia was unhappy with his tee shot on the 2nd hole on Sunday at Royal Portrush Golf Club in Northern Ireland. He slammed his driver on the ground in anger, and the shaft of the club snapped in half.
Garcia looked down at what was remaining of his club as he picked up his tee.

Rules state that a club can be repaired or replaced if it is damaged during normal play. If a club is damaged due to abuse, it cannot be replaced. The latter was clearly the case for Garcia.
Garcia still managed to shoot a 3-under 68 despite not having his driver for 16 holes. He may not have been bothered if he was hitting the club poorly, anyway.
Garcia certainly is not the first golfer we have seen snap a club in frustration during The Open Championship.
