Harold Varner III on Sunday won his first professional golf event in more than five years, and he did so in thrilling fashion.
Varner won the PIF Saudi International — an Asian Tour event — with a walk-off eagle on the 18th hole. He was just short of the green in two shots and in perfect position to force a playoff with Bubba Watson by making a birdie. Instead, he drained an insane putt for the win.
What a weekend of golf! Bubba Watson eagles the last to take a 1 shot lead and then Harold Varner III hit his second on the last (par 5) to here. He needs to get up and down for a birdie and to make a playoff… over to Mr Varner!!! @SkySportsNews @SaudiGolf @HV3_Golf 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 pic.twitter.com/Lf6BrR9q49

Watson had just eagled the same hole to take a one-shot lead and finish at 12-under for the tournament. He undoubtedly felt that his worst-case scenario was a playoff, but Varner pulled off the miraculous putt. Even Varner’s playing partner Tommy Fleetwood came over to congratulate him right away.
Here’s another angle of the putt:
THATS HOW YOU WIN, HAROLD!!!!(@HV3_Golf). First PGA win and he was on 18 a birdie ties/ eagle wins. The greatest way to win!!!! Couldn’t happen to better guy. Amazing. pic.twitter.com/u4BIsGRH8D

We’ve seen plenty of clutch putts in the past, but Varner’s is right up there with the most impressive.
