Canada defeated the United States in a thrilling 4 Nations Face-Off championship game on Thursday night, and they celebrated the victory with an appropriate soundtrack.
Connor McDavid scored the winning goal in overtime to give Canada a 3-2 win over the U.S. at TD Garden in Boston, Mass. The Canadians were able to exact revenge after losing to Team USA in the round robin of the 4 Nations, which was a massive success.
After Thursday night’s game, Nickelback was heard blaring from the Canada dressing room. One reporter said the specific song that was playing was “Burn it to the Ground.”

Though they have been the butt of countless jokes over the years, Nickelback is one of the most successful rock bands of all time. They are also from Canada, which is why the Canadian team made the song selection.
Nickelback has been used as an insult to athletes in the past, but the band’s music represented success on Thursday night.
The 4 Nations Face-Off was only an exhibition tournament, but players took it very seriously. Several played through injuries and laid it on the line as though they were trying to win a Stanley Cup. Fans already cannot wait for the next tournament.
