Jaccob Slavin made some ridiculous defensive plays during the championship game of the 4 Nations Face-Off between the US and Canada on Thursday night at TD Garden in Boston, Mass.
Slavin was credited with two blocked shots on defense during regulation. His first great play occurred when he reached his stick behind him to clear a puck in front of the net before Sidney Crosby had a chance to put in a rebound for a goal.
That helped the US preserve its 2-1 lead, though Canada later tied things in the second period on a goal by Sam Bennett.
Then in the third period, Slavin dove down to the ice and was able to use his legs to block a wrist shot attempt from Seth Jarvis.
Fans recognized just how awesome Slavin was playing.
Slavin was a 4th-round pick by the Carolina Hurricanes in 2012 and is playing in his 10th season. He is a two-time Lady Byng winner, but has never finished higher than 5th in Norris Trophy voting.
