Sharks’ Tomas Hertl makes good on Game 7 promise with historic goal
Tomas Hertl made good on a promise to extend the San Jose Sharks’ first-round playoff series with the Vegas Golden Knights to a Game 7 with a historic goal he scored on Sunday night.
Hertl beat Marc-Andre Fleury gloveside with a shorthanded goal in double overtime to give San Jose a 2-1 win over the Golden Knights in Sunday’s Game 6.

According to NHL public relations, Hertl’s goal was the first shorthanded goal in a game that required multiple overtimes.
The best part is after scoring twice in San Jose’s 5-2 win in Game 5 to extend the series to a sixth game, Hertl guaranteed a Game 7 during his postgame interview:

He called it and then backed it up. The 25-year-old now has five goals and six points in the series against Vegas.
Game 7 will be on Tuesday in San Jose.
