Sidney Crosby scored an awesome goal in the 4 Nations Face-Off on Monday to help propel Canada to the finals.
Canada was leading Finland 4-3 in the third period of Monday’s round robin game at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada. Finland pulled its goalie with about a minute left in the game. Around that time, Finland passed the puck near center ice. Crosby came over and slammed into Mikael Granlund. Both players fell to the ice, but Crosby quickly recovered and flipped a loose puck down the ice for an empty-net goal to make it 5-3.

The combination of the hit and goal was just perfect.
That was Crosby’s first goal of the event for Canada, and it came at an important time as it sealed the victory. Canada is hoping it will give them some momentum heading into their rematch with the US on Thursday in the championship in Boston.
At 37, Crosby is a veteran leader for Canada, and the country absolutely loves him.
“In our country he walks on water. And he’s as humble as they come,” Canada coach Jon Cooper said after the game.
Crosby has been playing for Canada’s national team since he was a junior in 2003. He is the captain for this squad and his record with Canada is now 47-6.
