Stephen A. Smith cracks joke about women’s soccer players not wanting to mess up hair (Video)

Stephen A. Smith made yet another comment on the air Friday morning that will likely be followed by an apology.

During the morning edition of SportsCenter Live from Cleveland, a highlight of a phenomenal free kick goal from a Women’s World Cup game between Norway and Germany was shown as part of the “Top 10” segment. ESPN’s Tim Legler noted that several German players turned their heads when the ball was coming toward them, presumably because they “didn’t want to catch one in the grill.”

Smith then chimed in with a gem of his own.

“They might not have wanted to mess their hair up,” he said.

Smith, who was suspended for a week by ESPN last year for making these insensitive comments about the Ray Rice domestic violence case, has been accused of being sexist on numerous occasions. Comments like that won’t help him prove otherwise.

We expect Smith to argue that he would have said the same about Cristiano Ronaldo.
