WEEI host Kirk Minihane doubles down on Erin Andrews criticism in ‘apology’

Kirk Minihane WEEIWEEI radio host Kirk Minihane doubled down on his criticism of FOX Sports reporter Erin Andrews in his “apology” issued on Wednesday.

Minihane is the host who called Andrews a “gutless b-tch” after the MLB All-Star Game last week. Minihane didn’t care for Andrews’ comment to Adam Wainwright about blaming social media for creating a controversy over the pitcher giving up a double to Derek Jeter and sarcastically said she should drop dead.

On Wednesday edition of the “Dennis and Callahan” show, Minihane apologized for calling Andrews a “b-tch,” but he criticized her by saying he doesn’t think she’s very smart or good at her job.

“I think she stinks at her job. I don’t think she’s very smart. I think FOX only hired her because she’s good looking. I think if she weighed 15 pounds more she’d be a waitress at Perkins,” said Minihane.

Dennis and Callahan then tried to protect Minihane from criticism by saying he was merely playing a role on the show.

Sorry, fellas, but hiding behind the “roles” excuse is a weak cop out that won’t hold up for anyone with a brain. Minihane isn’t really sorry about his criticism of Andrews; he’s just sorry about catching national criticism for saying it.
