Ryan Lochte suspended 10 months by USOC, USA Swimming

Ryan Lochte

Ryan Lochte has been suspended 10 months by the U.S. Olympic Committee and USA Swimming for his role in an internationally-publicized scandal during the Olympics in Rio.

The 10-month suspension keeps Lochte out of the 2017 World Championships. The three other swimmers involved in the incident also received suspensions, but for less time. TMZ Sports says one of the swimmers was suspended four months.

Jimmy Feigen was said to have been caught lying with Lochte, while Gunnar Bentz and Jack Conger were also involved.

Lochte was a total disrespectful bonehead for embellishing his story and acting like a drunken baffoon, but the guys were still held up at gunpoint and forced to pay, and Brazil completely overreacted with their punishments, as have the USOC and USA Swimming. This is too harsh.
