Week 14 expert NFL Picks against the spread – Doc’s locks

Week 14

Doc Brown has taken it on the chin the past two weeks and been knocked down harder than Jose Aldo. But you know what champion pickers like Doc Brown do? They dust themselves off and get back up and continue picking winners.

Yes, after two bad weeks in a row, Doc is due to turn things around. It all started with a correct pick on Thursday night.

Week 14

Doc likes the Indianapolis Colts. These are two of the worst defenses in the league, with Indy allowing 25 points per game and the Jags surrendering 28.4. The Jags have not been able to put together a big win in a long time, and that’s not about to change. Most of their offensive stats — such as their decent passing numbers and points per game — were built racking up stats after they were already down. When it comes down to it, this team under Blake Bortles flops in big games, such as this one which would really put them in contention to win the division.

The Patriots will be in Houston looking to turn around their two-game losing streak. Rob Gronkowski is set to see limited action, which should provide an offensive boost. And despite being without Gronk and Julian Edelman last game, the Patriots’ passing game did fairly well as Brady was able to throw for 312 yards and three touchdowns. A red zone interception, punt return for TD and drops late gave Philly the game, but the Pats should eliminate those mistakes against the Texans. Also keep in mind that the man quarterbacking the Texans is former Patriot Brian Hoyer. You don’t think Bill Belichick knows his weaknesses and will exploit them? Doc sure as heck does.

Lastly, Doc simply cannot quit the Giants. No matter how many times they break hearts — and they’ve done a lot of that — Doc will not stop believing they are better than what they’re doing. Yeah, their defense stinks, which is why even Tom Coughlin went for it on fourth down against the Jets instead of kicking a field goal. But this team is simply better than Miami. They will win and prove it on Monday night.
