Week 16 expert NFL Picks against the spread – Del’s selections

With just two weeks remaining in the regular season, Del is officially scorching hot. Last week’s 10-5-1 record against the spread means we have gone 22-9-1 over the past two weeks. If you’ve been paying attention and rolling with Del’s picks lately, you’ve been killing it.

The only negative from Week 15 was a 1-1 record with locks of the week, but we’re going to do our best to close out the year strong with those. Good luck down the stretch, everyone.

NFL-Picks-16

The Jets should give the Patriots a tough game at home, but this feels like more of a touchdown game than a field goal game. Ryan Fitzpatrick has played extremely well in recent weeks and the return of Darrelle Revis last week gave New York’s defense a big boost. That said, New England has more to play for this week than many realize. The simplest way for the Pats to lock up home field advantage throughout the playoffs is to beat the Jets, who will need to win and get some help in order to be in the wild card hunt. I expect both teams to give their best effort, and the Patriots at their best should be able to cover three points against the Jets. UPDATE: I still like the Patriots, but not enough to keep it as a lock with Danny Amendola now ruled out and Brandon LaFell banged up.

Some other notes: I keep trying to anticipate Carolina’s first loss and getting burned, but I’m picking against them again this week. The Falcons should be able to get up for this game at home, especially after the Panthers embarrassed them a few weeks ago.

Part of me wants to take the Ravens with 10 points because Ravens-Steelers games are almost always competitive, but this isn’t the same Baltimore team we have seen in years past. The Steelers are one of the hottest teams in the league and are fighting to make the playoffs. The Ravens have nothing to play for and are incredibly banged up.
