DeAndre Liggins accused of punching girlfriend, dropping Xbox on her head

DeAndre LigginsOklahoma City Thunder guard DeAndre Liggins is accused of punching his girlfriend, kicking her, and dropping an Xbox on her head as part of an alleged domestic violence incident that led to his arrest on Saturday.

The Oklahoman got a hold of the probable cause affidavit filed on Tuesday, which contains the alleged shocking details. Liggins, who played three seasons at Kentucky and is entering his third NBA season, allegedly committed the assault on girlfriend Jasmine Horton in front of their 2-year-old son.

The affidavit reportedly alleges that Liggins hit Horton in the head with his hand, and then punched her in the head when she went to the ground. The Oklahoma reports:

Horton locked herself in a bedroom before Liggins reportedly kicked in the door, pushed her down, dropped a fan on her, stomped her with his foot and dropped an Xbox on her head …

Horton had injuries on her arm and fingers as well as scratches on her back and bruising on her chest, according to the Oklahoma City police officer who wrote the affidavit.

Liggins was booked on complaints of domestic assault, battery with a dangerous weapon, and domestic abuse in the presence of a minor.

Liggins averaged 1.5 points and 1.4 rebounds in 39 games last season. He was a second-round pick of the Orlando Magic in 2011.

We imagine the Thunder might not want anything to do with such an insignificant player who may have committed the described acts. Don’t be surprised if he is released in the near future.
