Miroslav Klose scores World Cup record 16th goal (Video)
Miroslav Klose set a record with his 16th career World Cup goal on Tuesday as Germany got off to one of the hottest starts you will ever see against Brazil. Klose’s 16th World Cup goal put Germany on top 2-0 in the 23rd minute.
Germany would go on to take a 5-0 lead before the game hit the 30-minute mark, but we’re here to talk about Klose’s milestone. Ironically, Klose passed Brazil legend Ronaldo for the most World Cup goals ever.
Klose, who will turn 36 later this year, played in his 22nd World Cup match on Tuesday.
The loss of Thiago Silva clearly hurt the Brazilians in the early going. Silva was suspended for a match after picking up his second yellow card of the tournament with a boneheaded play in Brazil’s quarterfinal win over Columbia last Friday. Brazil could not have looked more lost.
