West Ham fans attack Manchester United bus, cause match delay (Video)
The last ever West Ham match at the club’s home stadium of Boleyn Ground was delayed on Tuesday after a group of fans began trashing Manchester United’s bus.
As the visitors were pulling in for their crucial Premier League match against West Ham, some unruly hooligans threw debris at the bus and caused significant damage. Here is some footage from the scene:

Police worked to clear the path for Manchester United and eventually had to use smoke bombs to get the unruly West Ham supporters to back off:

The match was delayed 45 minutes after United requested additional time to warm up. Wayne Rooney told reporters the reason for the delay was that his club’s bus “got smashed up.”
“It wasn’t nice,” Rooney said, according to the BBC. “But we’re here now so have to prepare for the game and go out and do our job.”
Unfortunately, this isn’t all that surprising when dealing with an intense soccer rivalry. We’ve seen soccer fans do some insane things over the years (remember this stunt?) in order to have their voices heard. Hopefully no one was injured as a result of Tuesday’s ridiculous antics.
