Baylor unveils gold chrome helmets (Pictures)
Baylor appears to be going the way of Oregon football. The program’s running backs coach, Jeff Lebby, tweeeted two photos on Saturday of new helmets for the football team. One is gold chrome, and the other is black matte. It’s believed these are helmets the team will wear in the upcoming season.

As our friends at Black Sports Online point out, programs know they have to do what they can to keep recruits interested in their program. Having cool uniforms and lots of combinations is something that attracts players, as well as extra attention.
Many other teams showed off new helmets this year. Boise State, Michigan State, Northwestern and Oklahoma State all got really creative. So did Missouri with their winged Tiger look. And Notre Dame even wore double-sided helmets. But when it comes to a discussion about the best helmet in college football, our friend Jack insists that Navy has the best of all:
