Pro wrestling endured a very tough day on Sunday, as three well-known figures from the sport reportedly lost their lives on the same day.
WWE announced on Sunday afternoon that Hall of Famer Nokolai Volkoff, a former WWF Tag Team Champion who was known for teaming up with the Iron Shiek, died at age 70. Volkaff recently had a heart attack and was admitted to the hospital, according to a report from PWInsider.com.
Another former WWE wrestler, Brian Lawler, has also reportedly passed away. TMZ reported on Sunday that Lawler attempted to hang himself in his jail cell and was placed on life support, and Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer says Lawler has died.

Just to confirm, Nikolai Volkoff, Brian Lawler and Brickhouse Brown have all passed away. Very sad day for pro wrestling.

Lawler, the son of Hall of Fame WWE announcer Jerry Lawler, wrestled in the WWE under the stage name “Grandmaster Sexay.” He was 46.
As Meltzer noted, former pro wrestler Brickhouse Brown has also died. Brown reportedly passed away at 57 after a battle with cancer. Brown wrestled in multiple organizations in the 1980s and 1990s and became known for his feuds in the CWA with well-known personalities like Jerry Lawler Scott Steiner, and Terry Funk.
