Report: WWE officials believe Brock Lesnar is returning to UFC

Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar may be planning a return to the UFC.

According to the latest installment of the Wrestling Observer Letter, WWE officials believe Lesnar will be returning to the octagon when his WWE contract expires in March.

“The Lesnar people always keep things quiet, but within the company, the belief is that he’s going back to UFC, and his showing up lighter to TV last week confirmed that to people who thought it,” Dave Meltzer reported, per John Morgan of MMAjunkie.

While White told MMAjunkie that he has not spoken to Lesnar, the UFC president said last month that he has a “great relationship” with Lesnar and that Brock has expressed interest in fighting again.

Lesnar hasn’t fought in the UFC since he lost to Alistair Overeem in December 2011. He lost to current UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez prior to that, but Lesnar wasn’t always healthy during his MMA career. He was previously diagnosed with a condition called diverticulitis, which made it difficult for him to train and keep weight on.

Lesnar says he is now back to 100 percent health. After seeing what he did to John Cena at SummerSlam, we have no reason to doubt him.

Back in August, Lesnar’s manager and close friend Paul Heyman said Brock would consider a UFC return.
