The Milwaukee Brewers are hoping that Christian Yelich’s oblique injury is not too severe.
Yelich exited Wednesday night’s loss to the St. Louis Cardinals with an oblique injury. He told reporters after the game that he was not sure how he hurt it.
Right oblique for Yelich. He didn’t say when he first felt it, but said it wasn’t on that slide in foul ground. They will re-evaluate Thursday.

Yelich will miss the team’s game on Thursday against the Chicago Cubs. Being a lefty and with the team facing Jon Lester, it’s a good time for him to have a day off, manager Craig Counsell said.
Yelich went 0-for-3 with a strikeout Wednesday. He’s batting .385 with two doubles and a homer in six games this season, including a 5-for-5 game.
