Clayton Kershaw says he feels ‘100 percent’ following bullpen session

The Los Angeles Dodgers have clawed their way near the top of the NL West, and now the good news continues to trickle in.

Ace lefty Clayton Kershaw, who has been sidelined since late June with a herniated disc in his back, threw a bullpen session on Saturday and said that he feels “100 percent,” per Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register.

The 28-year-old Kershaw is currently on the 60-day disabled list but is eligible to return to the mound on August 27. He had gone 11-2 with 1.79 ERA and 145 strikeouts in 16 starts before the injury.

It was only a little over a month ago that the three-time NL Cy Young Award winner was shut down indefinitely after suffering a setback in a simulated game, so this is obviously a great development for the Dodgers with about 40 games left and the division crown very much in reach. Perhaps this time the Rams will be the ones to send Kershaw a welcome back gift.
