Being taunted by hecklers comes with the territory of being a professional athlete. Often times they are ignored, but every now and then the heckler receives a response.
Earlier this season, Brandon Phillips of the Cincinnati Reds encountered his heckler and took a selfie with him. Phillips also signed a baseball for the guy with one of the better inscriptions you’ll ever see.
It was Dallas Keuchel’s turn this week. The Houston Astros starting pitcher was apparently well aware of some ribbing he was receiving and decided to dish out some of his own. As Nick Wong describes, the above pictured baseball was tossed to a heckler who was sitting next to him.
As if the message wasn’t good enough on its own, the heart is the icing on the cake. Well done Dallas, well done indeed.
