All Geno Smith wanted on Sunday was to give his two cents about the Super Bowl LX matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots. But what he got in return was a steady stream of ridicule in the mean streets of social media.
Like most other people, the Las Vegas Raiders quarterback tuned in to the big game at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., and while watching the Seahawks dominate New England in the first half, the former West Virginia Mountaineers star signal-caller offered a technical opinion on what was happening on the field.
“SEA is pairing weak inside zone runs w cans to stretch runs strong at the 5tech. Alerts based on weak safety rotation or 5 down fronts. Good chess match so far. NE countering by mixing fronts and cvgs,” Smith wrote in a social media post on X.
Meanwhile, many fans online did not pay attention to Smith’s objective take.
@Seahawks make sure to listen to none of this GS Slop

The Seahawks played a major role in giving Smith’s NFL career a second wind, but they traded him to the Raiders in 2025 before signing Sam Darnold to a 3-year, $100.5 million contract — a move that immediately paid big dividends for Seattle, which won its first Super Bowl title since the 2013 campaign.
With that, there’s no reason for Seattle to regret parting ways with Smith, who threw for 19 touchdowns and got picked off 17 times in 2025 with the Raiders.
