Report: Giants may not get Madison Bumgarner back until August
The San Francisco Giants knew they’d be without ace pitcher Madison Bumgarner for quite some time, but he may not return to the mound until after the All-Star break.
According to John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle, the Giants hope to have Bumgarner playing catch by late May. Still, that timeline will not have him on the mound until early August, a few weeks later than the original estimate, which had him set for a return somewhere around the All-Star game.
Bumgarner suffered the shoulder injury in a dirt bike accident on an off day, which could impact him in the future. This news won’t make the Giants any happier, as they’re 13-24 and struggling mightily without him.
