Rays minor leaguer rips Bryce Harper ‘Make Baseball Fun Again’ hat
A Tampa Bay Rays minor league didn’t think much of Bryce Harper’s “Make Baseball Fun Again” hat.
Harper, recall, sported the hat after Monday’s Opening Day win over Atlanta, and it immediately caused a major stir on social media (see the hat here). It was, like most things Harper does, somewhat divisive. Among those who hated it? Tampa Bay Rays minor league pitcher Brent Honeywell, who went off on Harper on Twitter.
"Make baseball fun again" it must not be too fun being one of the youngest super stars. It must not be fun to face the best of the best.

Baseball is not a "tired" game either. It's been played 155 years and people still want to play it. Real "clown move"

@SertMcGirt it sucks to see it because guys in MILB are workin to death to be in his shoes and he's basically complaining. Grow up.

I feel like Honeywell is missing the point here. Harper has plenty of fun playing baseball, and he has never disputed that people want to play it. Harper’s point (as explained here) has always been that emotion should be encouraged, not policed. It’s just another instance of old school vs. new school thinking butting heads. Honeywell seems to be a traditionalist. As for Harper, well, don’t worry, he’s having plenty of fun.
