Brandon Ingram says knee issue is ‘nothing too serious’
Los Angeles Lakers rookie forward Brandon Ingram gave a bit of a scare when he had to exit Friday night’s loss to the Utah Jazz with a sore right knee, but the issue fortunately appears to be a minor one.
After the game, the No. 2 overall pick downplayed concerns and said that he was “absolutely” confident he would be able to play on Sunday against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
“It’s nothing too serious,” Ingram said, per Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News. “It’s just a little tendinitis; nothing serious.”
The 19-year-old Ingram, who has started the season coming off the bench behind veteran Luol Deng after some uncertainty over the summer, has no prior history of knee troubles. But it will at least be worth keeping an eye on as the slender rookie continues to grow into his body this season.
