Celtics fans chant ‘Let’s go Celtics!’ at the end of blowout Game 6 loss (Video)

In the span of about 10 minutes on Thursday night, Celtics fans showed how they can be some of the classiest and most classless fans in America. After the game, there was the bonehead fan who spilled his drink on LeBron James as he was heading to the locker room. LeBron hung 45 points on the Celtics and was the reason Miami won, so that particular fan obviously had no clue how to air out his frustrations.

Before that, there was the chant. With four minutes remaining in the game and the Celtics trailing by about 20, the remaining fans at the TD Garden began chanting “Let’s go Celtics!” The camera cut to Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett on the bench, and they appeared to be nodding their heads in satisfaction. The fans continued the chant until the game ended. After the game, Ray Allen talked about how special the moment was.

“Kevin (Garnett) was sitting next to me and I said that these, I know I am biased, but the best fans that I’ve ever played in front of, ever seen, in my life,” Allen said according to Eye on Basketball. “They understand the situation that is before us. And we understand it. That was, basically, they were sending us off. Letting us know, hey, this is still well and alive. We need you guys to go down there and get a win for us. So, we all felt it on the bench.”

The series is not over, and if any team can win on the road in Game 7 it’s these Celtics. They showed they can come up big in Game 5, so they just have to do it again. While the Heat are certainly more talented, Boston will likely get a much better effort from Pierce and should avoid a 19-of-26 shooting night from LeBron. The game should be as good as advertised.
