Kevin Garnett has not decided if he will play next season
Kevin Garnett’s future remains up in the air, according to Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor.
Taylor said that Garnett told him he would like to play next season, but is unsure if his body can handle it.
“I just asked him, ‘Kevin, what are you going to do?'” Taylor said, via Steve Aschburner of NBA.com. “His answer was, ‘I’d really like to play next year ‘cuz I’d like to go out knowing we got into the playoffs.’ Then he said, ‘I don’t know if I can.’ I asked him, ‘What does that mean?’ And he said, ‘I don’t know.’
“So I asked the question but I didn’t get an answer that helped me. Yes, theoretically, he’d like to play. But he has some doubts of his knees holding up. I believe he told me exactly the truth.”
Coach and president Tom Thibodeau said that Garnett will have as much time as he needs to reach a decision, as he’s earned that right.
Garnett appeared in just 38 games last season and turned 40 in May. His body may simply be betraying him. One of his former teammates is reportedly coming back after wrestling with the decision, but we may have seen the last of KG.
