Late in the first quarter of Monday’s Game 5 of the NBA Finals, cameras caught an awkward exchange between Kevin Love and LeBron James.
With his right arm in the air, Love appeared to be expecting a high five from James. However, the Cavaliers forward received something else. Love got lectured by James, causing the expression on Love’s face to dramatically change.
Since Game 1, Love has had a rough go of it in the finals. There was, of course, the concussion he sustained during Game 2. Then, he was criticized and called soft for missing the following game. Now, when it seemed like Love was going to get a celebratory acknowledgement, this happens.
It’s never easy for Kevin Love.
