Sixers bringing Meek Mill to Boston for Game 2
The Philadelphia 76ers are turning to their good luck charm in the hopes of evening their second-round playoff series against the Boston Celtics.
Sal Paolantonio of ESPN reported on Thursday that Sixers co-owner Michael Rubin will be bringing recently-freed Philly rapper Meek Mill to Boston for Game 2 of the series.
Mill had been serving a highly controversial two-to-four year prison sentence for a parole violation before he was released on bail in late-April by order of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court after less than five months. Rubin picked Mill up from prison in a helicopter upon his release.
As for the Sixers, they were blown out by the Celtics in Game 1 in a 117-101 affair. Game 2 in Boston is sure to be another uphill climb, but Mill’s presence should be a welcome one considering how much he fired Philly up in Round 1.
