There was a full moon in Dallas thanks to DeMarco Murray (Picture)

DeMarco Murray had a bit of a wardrobe malfunction during Sunday’s Cowboys-Steelers game. The Dallas running back was tackled by Troy Polamalu, who brought down Murray and his pants on the play. The result was a full moon.

NC State wears ‘Don’t Ever Give Up’ Jimmy V tribute jerseys (Pictures)

NC State wore special uniforms during Tuesday’s game against UConn at the Jimmy V Classic that paid tribute to former Wolfpack head coach Jim Valvano.

The red jerseys were designed with nets around the collar and shoulders, meant to represent the way Valvano wore the winning net around his neck after his 1983 Wolfpack won the national championship by defeating Houston’s Phi Slama Jama team featuring Hakeem Olajuwon (then Akeem) and Clyde Drexler.

The back of each jersey featured Valvano’s memorable saying, “Don’t Ever Give Up.” Valvano first said those words during a speech on Feb. 21, 1993, prior to NC State’s game with Duke at Reynolds Coliseum. The speech was part of a celebration for the 10-year commemoration of the ’83 squad.

Valvano announced during a speech at the 1993 ESPYs that “Don’t give up … don’t ever give up” would be the motto for his charity designed to raise money for cancer research. The V Foundation logo was seen on the front of all the NC State jerseys.

Valvano delivered his moving speech at the ESPYs just eight weeks before he died of cancer:

Flo Rida giving his former high school football team insane uniforms (Pictures)

Rapper Flo Rida recently decided he wanted to give back to the high school he graduated from, Miami-Carol City High in Florida, and it appears he is doing so in the form of football uniforms. But not just any football uniforms — some of the ugliest, loudest, most visually violent football uniforms you will ever lay eyes on.

According to the Palm Beach Post, Miami-Carol High is celebrating its 50th anniversary next year. There’s no better way to acknowledge a milestone than by burning the retinas of your opponents. The uniforms were designed by an apparel company called Futuristic Woo. If these are uniforms of the future, I better start loading up on aspirin.

And people thought these Baylor uniforms were bright?

Boise State, Michigan State, Oklahoma State all wear new helmets (Pictures)

The new helmet movement in college football continued on Saturday with four schools showing off new ones. Above are Boise State’s black helmets that were easily the slickest we saw. The Broncos wore them on Saturday for their 32-7 win over UNLV.

Boise State unveils sick black helmets as part of black out uniforms (Picture)

There’s going to be a lot of black and blue around on Saturday when Boise State hosts UNLV, and we’re not talking about bruises. Between Boise State’s trademark blue turf and the new “Black Out” uniforms they will be wearing — which still contain some blue and orange — the Broncos’ stadium will be black and blue all over.

As you can see from the photo above that Lost Lettermen shared with us, the helmets are clearly the best part. During a season in which we have seen some hideous helmets like these horrible ones Notre Dame wore a little over a week ago, Boise State’s black shells are a welcome change. I give them a 10 out of 10.

Thunder’s new alternate uniforms leaked? (Picture)

The Oklahoma City Thunder’s alternate uniforms for the 2012-2013 season seem to have been leaked by the NBA 2K13 video game.

Steve Noah, who owns the sports gaming site “Operation Sports,” gave a preview of several alternate NBA uniforms on Tuesday based on images from the video game. He shared pictures of the Nuggets, Spurs, Blazers, Nets, and Thunder alternate jerseys for the 2012-2013 NBA season.

Some of the alternate unis had already been revealed by the teams, but this is the first time we’re seeing the OKC alternates. Let me just say that I’m not a fan.

I don’t care for the number being the centerpiece of the jersey, the team name written vertically down the side, and the two extra stripes. They could also use a third color worked in there.

Oh yeah, and let’s hope if these jerseys make it out of the video game world and into the real world they spell “THUNDER” properly instead of “THUDNER.”

As a friend said to me, the Thunder have the three of the most marketable players in the league, and the worst uniforms in sports. I suppose if you’re going to have one or the other, they have the important part taken care of, but why can’t they at least improve their unis rather than make them worse?

Here’s another look at them:

Notre Dame helmets for the Miami game were two-sided and ugly (Picture)

Notre Dame’s unique uniforms for the Oct. 6 game against Miami were unveiled in August, and at the time we called them hideous. After seeing them worn on the field, our reaction was no different.

These two-sided helmets looked fine if you were looking at the gold side, but the blue side with the leprechaun ruins it all. Not only are the helmets asymmetrical, but they’re also uneven; the blue side only covers the left third of the helmet, not half of it.

Even their gold shamrock helmets were slightly better.

Thanks to @CJZero for the excellent photo work.
