North Carolina beat Duke 81-67 Saturday evening in Chapel Hill to win the ACC regular season title. Freshman Harrison Barnes, who chose UNC over the Dukies, was a difference-maker scoring 18 points. His teammate Dexter Strickland wasn’t as big of a factor scoring just eight, but he put the exclamation point on the Tar Heels’ win with this monstrous dunk over Duke big man Miles Plumlee. It was quite the turnaround season for the Heels who went 20-17 and 5-11 in the ACC last season. They’re 24-6 this season after going 14-2 in conference play and they should be a top three seed come tournament time. Oh yeah, and that change to Kendall Marshall as the team’s full-time point guard? It seems to be working out pretty well.
