Jahlil Okafor’s father, uncle chide media for not voting him Player of the Year

Jahlil Okafor Duke

Duke freshman Jahlil Okafor came in second in AP Player of the Year voting in college basketball, and his family was not happy about that.

After Duke wiped Michigan State in the Final Four Saturday, Okafor’s father and uncle “chided” the media for only giving the big man five of 65 votes for the award.

Here they were celebrating:

Wisconsin’s Frank Kaminsky received 58 of the votes and was the runaway winner. Willie Cauley-Stein and Jerian Grant also received one vote apiece.

Okafor had 18 points on 7-for-11 shooting with six rebounds, two steals and two blocks in the 81-61 win over the Spartans, which clearly had his family feeling confident. They better check their behavior, though. They don’t want to be viewed in the same way that RG3’s father is in D.C.
