It did not take long for fans to catch onto the Ben Simmons GPA story and use it as ammunition.
A report emerged Saturday saying Simmons was ineligible to win the Wooden Award because he did not meet academic requirements. That led Kentucky fans to taunt Simmons with chants of “GPA” during Saturday’s game against LSU in Lexington:
Simmons had 17 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and seven steals in the game, but LSU lost to the Wildcats 94-77. It doesn’t seem like the taunts bothered him.
