Iowa junior defensive back John Lowdermilk missed out on his moment of glory during Wednesday’s Outback Bowl game against LSU.
Lowdermilk intercepted a pass in the third quarter and was heading for a pick-six, but he pulled a DeSean Jackson and dropped the ball prior to crossing the goal line. Officials reviewed the play and determined that Lowdermilk dropped the ball at the half yard line and placed it there for first and goal. Luckily for him, the Hawkeyes scored a few plays later to get on the board, but Lowdermilk still missed a chance for a huge moment.
