Police bodycam video has emerged of Sherrone Moore’s Dec. 10 arrest after being fired as Michigan head coach.
The video, obtained by TMZ, shows Moore, still wearing Wolverines gear, in tears as police took him into custody in a church parking lot. He emotionally said he did not want to hurt himself and had a beautiful family. When officers searched him for a weapon, he told them he was in possession of a pair of scissors.
At one point, he confided in an officer that he had just lost his job, and added that “they wanted to fire me anyways.”
Moore was fired by Michigan after the university received evidence that he had been conducting an affair with Paige Shiver, his administrative assistant. After his firing, he allegedly went to her home and threatened to harm himself, and was later arrested and charged with stalking and home invasion. He denied any wrongdoing and initially pled not guilty to the charges.
Moore avoided jail time by reaching a plea agreement that saw him plead guilty to lesser charges. He is due to be sentenced on April 14.
