By now, most of the cheap shots that have been taken at Manti Te’o over his fake girlfriend have run their course. Te’o has been mocked in pretty much every way imaginable since news of the story first broke, so most of the bits about him have either been done before or just aren’t funny. The sign currently on display at the Quality Inn Hotel in Houston is an exception.
For some reason, the photo above that Clark Haptonstall shared on Twitter struck me as pretty damn funny. We’ve seen the imaginary girlfriend cam at hockey games and the sarcastic advertisements run by airline companies, but this is pretty original. Imaginary friends stay free — now that’s a special that any hotel can run 24 hours a day without losing a dime.
