Ex-Cal QB Joe Ayoob sets paper airplane record (Video)

Former Cal quarterback Joe Ayoob had a disappointing college career, but he’s become notable for a world-record accomplishment achieved over the weekend. That’s right, Ayoob, the successor to Aaron Rodgers, teamed with TV producer John Collins on a paper airplane project. Collins folded a paper airplane that Ayoob launched 226 feet, four inches Sunday for a world record. Ayoob’s throw beat the previous record of 207 feet, 4 inches by 19 feet, but the previous record holder believes he can beat the new record.

Ayoob played indoor pro football after his time at Cal and was invited for a tryout in the Arena Football League this year. He turned it down after becoming a full-time sales rep for Anchor Steam beer. Ayoob’s most notable accomplishment thus far is really cool. Come on, what kid wouldn’t be proud of throwing a paper airplane farther than anyone else?
