Aaron Hernandez girlfriend Shayanna Jenkins was crying after guilty verdict
Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was found guilty of first-degree murder on Wednesday, and his fiancee Shayanna Jenkins immediately burst into tears after hearing the verdict.
Jenkins, who had been granted immunity to testify, said very little that could have convicted Hernandez while she was on the stand. It became clear almost immediately that she was not going to “flip” on the father of her child, though she did very little to help Hernandez’s case.
Hernandez continued to show little emotion after learning that he is likely facing life in prison without parole.

According to ESPN’s Michele Steele, Hernandez mouthed “be strong” to Jenkins as he was taken out of the courtroom in handcuffs and shackles.
One of the most important pieces of Jenkins’ testimony was her explanation of what she did with a large box the day after Lloyd was murdered. The 25-year-old admitted to throwing the box in a dumpster per Hernandez’s request, but she claimed she had no idea where the dumpster was located. The defense later tried to prove that the box may have been filled with marijuana, although Jenkins testified that it weighed roughly 40 pounds.
