Browns concerned about latest Johnny Manziel party videos

Johnny Manziel

The Cleveland Browns are once again — or perhaps still — concerned about the way Johnny Manziel is carrying himself off the field.

Several photos and videos that were shared on social media over the weekend showed Manziel partying it up at a Dallas hotspot during the AFC Championship Game. Browns executive vice president of football operations Sashi Brown says he has not seen the latest videos but admitted he is concerned.

“I haven’t seen them, but I would care about it just because I want all of our guys to represent themselves well and be responsible in terms of their behavior off the field,” Brown told Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. “We want all of our guys to go out and come back in shape and be ready to go. The thing for him obviously is to demonstrate to teammates, to our fans, and to folks in the building that this is going to be the most important thing in his life.”

If you have not seen the latest videos of Manziel raging, you can watch them here.

Next week will mark the one-year anniversary of Manziel entering rehab in order to become a “better family member, friend and teammate.” Since then, he has done very little to show that he is more focused and has gotten his drinking problem — if he truly has one — under control.

Brown insisted that Manziel still has a “chance” to remain in Cleveland, but he said the team can’t allow Manziel’s off-field antics to stand in the way of preparing for the 2016 season.

“That’s the most important thing we can do right now and frankly not get distracted with any one guy, whether it’s Johnny or anyone else,” Brown said. “That’s critical for us.”

There is a growing sense of belief that Manziel wants the Browns to cut him, and it sounds like his new head coach does not think very highly of him. Will a change of scenery help Johnny Football? We have our doubts.
