Richard Sherman reportedly has a priceless excuse for taking Adderall

Adderall seems to be the most popular banned substance across the NFL at the moment, as it seems we have a new player suspended each week for taking the drug. One of the latest is Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman. His alleged excuse is hilarious.

According to a “person informed of Sherman’s explanation” who reportedly spoke to USA Today on condition of anonymity,  Sherman says he accidentally drank from a teammate’s water bottle that had a crushed up Adderall pill in it. The source said the teammate is allowed to take Adderall because he has a prescription.

I don’t know about you, but I always crush pills up into my water bottle when they’re prescribed to me. And once I do that, I let anyone drink from that beverage without letting them know that my prescription medication has been dissolved in the water.

USA Today also said that Curtis Crabtree, a reporter for Sports Radio KJR in Seattle, exchanged a series of texts with Sherman during which the Seattle corner denied ever taking any banned substances but also said the story about accidentally ingesting Adderall is “totally false.” If Sherman plans to be taken seriously with his appeal, it’s probably best that he not ride with the “I drank a water and didn’t know what was in it” excuse.
