The Falcons lost 34-3 to the Panthers in a game saw the winner advance to the playoffs as NFC South champions. After being thoroughly outplayed, the team left the playing field to find their bad Sunday continuing even after the game clock had hit all zeroes.
A pipe burst under the Georgia Dome and caused sewage to spill outside the Falcons locker room.
It was that kind of day for the Atlanta Falcons. A victory would have sent them to the playoffs. Instead, they lost in a manner that caused fans to leave the stadium and head for home during the third quarter. And then, this happens. You can’t make this stuff up.
