Former NFL quarterback Tyler Thigpen was arrested early Sunday morning in Myrtle Beach, S.C. for driving while under the influence. Well, he wasn’t exactly driving at the time of his arrest, but he was behind the wheel of a running vehicle.
According to WMBF, police found Thigpen passed out in his car at a Wendy’s drive-thru. When state troopers woke Thigpen up, he refused a field sobriety test and was arrested. He also refused a breathalyzer while being booked.
Believe it or not, it sounds like Thigpen intends to argue that he was not intoxicated.
“My client, Tyler Thigpen, is extremely cognizant of the gravity of the allegations against him,” his attorney Jonny McCoy said in a statement. “My client and I look forward to this case taking the standard procedural avenues through our justice system with the same benefits and due process afforded to every other American citizen. My client stands innocent until proven guilty…”
The only thing your client is innocent of is eating crap food when he still aspires to play in the NFL, Mr. McCoy. The passed out in the drive-thru look wasn’t good for those Oklahoma State players a month ago, and it’s not good for Thigpen.
