Lucy Li rests her hand on her side like a classic 11-year-old

Lucy Li US Open

Lucy Li is the talk of the US Women’s Open at Pinehurst this week for obvious reasons: she’s 11 years old and qualified to play in one of the top golf tournaments in the country.

Though Li’s week will end after just two days — she shot an 8-over 78 in each of her first two rounds — she still was the youngest golfer ever to qualify for the tournament. That’s a pretty big deal.

But how awesome is that photo of her? Look at her on the course, just chilling out, hand on her side, leg pointed out. Is that the classic young girl pose or what? And it really doesn’t get much better than her stars and stripes outfit either. Like a true American.

You know, the real big irony is that the week Li gets all the attention for being a young player competing in such a huge event, it’s Michelle Wie who’s leading the tournament. Like Li, Wie was once a heavily-hyped young Asian-American golfer, though her career didn’t amount to what many thought it would. And now she’s leading the Open through two rounds.
