When Alex Morgan and Sydney Leroux were burning up social media over the past week sharing photos from their time in Hawaii, they weren’t just on vacation. They were actually in the land of paradise for a wedding of one of their national team teammates.
According to TMZ, USWNT star player Abby Wambach got married to longtime girlfriend Sarah Huffman on Saturday at the Villas at Poipu Kai in Kauai. The couple’s closest friends and family were there for the ceremony.
Wambach later confirmed the marriage with a tweet sent on Wednesday:
Sarah and I wanted to thank everyone for all the love and support. We couldn't be happier. What an amazing week it's been. #honeymoon

Discrimination based upon sexual orientation, race, gender have no place in the world – nevertheless sports. I am excited to be an ally and stand up for people like me in the LGBT community.”
