Last week we shared a report saying Anna Kournikova and Enrique Iglesias were “on the rocks” after 12 years together. Well it looks like they’re officially over. OK! Magazine says the two have broken up.
So what was the issue with them? Apparently they were both cheating on each other.
A website called “Blind Gossip,” which posts blind gossip items that contain clues in their stories, posted a story on Oct. 2 — the day after Page Six’s report on Kournikova and Iglesias was published — that a “beautiful couple” was about to break up.
In their blind item, they used terms that would apply to Kournikova and Iglesias, such as “love match,” which is a play on Kournikova’s tennis career, “track record” which is another sports term, and “mole” because Iglesias used to have a distinctive mole.
Blind Gossip included these nuggets in their story:
The public story is that the relationship just ran it’s course and that one party was tired of the lack of commitment of the other party.
But we’re going to tell you the private reason behind the split: cheating! Yes, that’s the real reason they are breaking up. The last few years have just been a series of fights over infidelity.
Our inside mole told us that they are both guilty. He tended to favor models. She favored professional athletes. There are several big names involved as third parties, including a well-known supermodel and a mega-rich athlete.
Sounds just like Kournikova and Iglesias, right? Well after OK! Magazine’s report of the breakup was published, Blind Gossip updated their story to say the item was about Anna and Enrique.
So, you probably will hear that Kournikova and Iglesias broke up because she was tired of waiting around for him to marry her after 12 years together, but the real reason is cheating. Blind Gossip also says the reason for the leak of the breakup was to prevent pictures of them with other people from coming out. Don’t be surprised when you see stories in the coming weeks about them dating new people.
