Ronda Rousey taken to hospital after loss to Holly Holm
Ronda Rousey was taken to a local hospital in Melbourne after losing to Holly Holm at UFC 193 in Australia Sunday.
Rousey was knocked out by Holm in the first minute of the second round of their bout. That was after she took a number of big shots in the first round and was on the defensive for most of the five minutes. The knockout blow came on a kick by Holm to the head that sent Rousey to the mat in the second round. Holm jumped in to finish the fight after that.

It sounds like Rousey will be okay.
Rousey has been transported to the hospital, per UFC. No serious injuries right now but she does have a busted lip.

It’s not uncommon for a fighter to be taken to the hospital for examination after defeats where they are beaten pretty soundly and knocked out. This is a first for Rousey, though, who was previously unbeaten in her career. She is now 12-1. Holm is now 10-0.
