Nate Diaz goes off on new UFC uniforms

Nate-Diaz

The UFC officially announced on Tuesday that it has reached an apparel deal with Reebok. Rather than relying on their own sponsorships, fighters will be given “kits” at the start of their fight week that include a uniform they will wear inside the octagon.

The six-year deal kicks in next July, and Nate Diaz is not happy about it. He posted a somewhat NSFW image on Twitter Tuesday evening to express his displeasure.

If we know anything about Diaz, it’s that he loves flipping the bird.

As Bloody Elbow notes, part of the new Reebok deal states that sponsorship income will be distributed based on the UFC’s current ranking system. Diaz was 5th when he was pulled from the rankings back in May due to “inactivity” and reportedly turning down a fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov. He now ranks 12th after being reinstated, which drops him down two tiers in the payment system.

A lot of fighters have their own sponsorship deals and like pumping their friends’ products, so I’m sure Diaz won’t be the only one unhappy with the Reebok contract. Although, he’ll probably be the only one that posts a middle finger on Twitter because of it.
