Cristiano Ronaldo believes he’s better than Lionel Messi

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are considered the two best soccer players in the world. Ronaldo is a prolific goal scorer for Real Madrid, while Messi set a world record with 72 goals scored last season for Barcelona.

During an interview with CNN International’s “World Sport,” Ronaldo said it’s difficult to compare the two players, but he believes he is better.

“Some people say I’m better, other people say it’s him, but at the end of the day, they’re going to decide who is the best player at the moment, which I think is me,” Ronaldo told Pedro Pinto.

“Sometimes it makes me tired — for him too. They compare each other all the time. You cannot compare a Ferrari with a Porsche — it’s a different engine. You cannot compare.

“I think we push each other in competition. This is why the competition is so high. This is why Madrid and Barcelona are the best teams in the world.”

Much like when Eli Manning sparked a controversy by saying he was a top five quarterback when asked, what would you expect Ronaldo to say? That Messi is better? He gave a pretty diplomatic answer, but yeah, why not say he’s better? His team won La Liga this season after finishing second to Messi’s squad the past two years. I wouldn’t have expected him to say otherwise, though most people would lean toward Messi at this point.

Phil Scolari: People don’t like Cristiano Ronaldo because he has sex with so many women

Because he is one of the most popular athletes in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo is also one of the most hated. Fans of rival soccer clubs loathe Ronaldo for a number of reasons, including but not limited to the fact that they’re threatened by his ability and hate his cocky attitude. If you ask Cristiano himself, he might tell you that the haters get on him because he’s so handsome and wealthy.

Former Chelsea and Portugal manager Phil Scolari agrees with Ronaldo, albeit in a slightly more detailed manner.

“Some people do not like him because he is a great player, good-looking and has sex with all the ladies,” Scolari told SporTV Arena according to Sambafoot. “People get jealous. As a person he is spectacular, wonderful. He works socially like no other. He’s a good team-mate, a great footballer, and a great friend.”

Scolari also said that if it weren’t for that damn Lionel Messi, Ronaldo would be all set. Unfortunately, Messi has done a good job of stepping all over the whole “Ronaldo is the best in the world” thing.

“The only bad thing about Cristiano’s life is Messi,” Scolari continued. “If it wasn’t for Messi, Cristiano would be the best player in the world for five consecutive years.”

If only, if only. If you have to be hated by a large amount of people, it might as well be because you get so much action. There are surely a few people out there that would argue that they hate Ronaldo because he’s an actor on the pitch, but he’ll probably stick with the sex thing. It makes him sound cooler.

Cristiano Ronaldo Sacked by the LBS Nut Bag for Being Ridiculously Good Looking

Cristiano Ronaldo is handsome. He is rich. He is also one of the best soccer players in the world. But you know what bro? Just because you have a lot going for you doesn’t mean you have to remind others of it.

The Real Madrid player spoke after a recent game against Dinamo Zagreb and touched on the reasons why he felt the Croatian crowd was nasty towards him.

“Yo creo que es porque soy guapo, rico y un gran jugador y me tienen envidia,” he told reporters.

That translates to: I believe [the crowd gave me problems] because I am handsome, rich, and a great player, and they’re jealous of me.

That may be the case, but taking the A-Rod approach against heckling fans is not a good idea. Pointing out everything you have that others don’t is only going to make the haters hate you even more. Bad move, Ronaldo.

Cristiano Ronaldo Has a New Black Ferrari and It’s Awesome

Cristiano Ronaldo Ferrari

That is Cristiano Ronaldo’s new black Ferrari. All tinted out and looking like the batmobile, as Dirty Tackle writes. What’s it doing parked on the sidewalk outside a Japanese restaurant in Lisbon? What else would you do with a vehicle that choice.

Now all he needs is a Justin Verlander-style vanity plate to match.

Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens, the gauntlet has been thrown. What will you do to respond?

Cristiano Ronaldo Takes an Embarrassing Dive Against AC Milan (Video)

This is why people in America make fun of soccer.  You can call it ignorant, arrogant, misinformed, ill-informed, or whatever you want to call it, but these are the images that are burned into the minds of people who hate on soccer.  I’d rather see Cristiano Ronaldo spitting at a cameraman than doing something like this.  Check out this video of Cristiano Ronaldo’s dive against AC Milan, courtesy of Deadspin:

The best is when a soccer fan uses the excuse of “that’s just part of the game.”  You’re right, it is, and you should be embarrassed that that’s the case.  I wish I could ref one of these matches just for a day.  I’d slap a red card on every player I saw doing something like this and maybe even force them to wear a blond wig for a game when they returned to action.  Actually, some of them would probably like that.

Ronaldo Spitting at Cameraman (I Think)

After Portugal was eliminated from the World Cup on Tuesday at the hands of a 1-0 defeat from Spain, their captain was understandably upset.  Cristiano Ronaldo — the highest-paid player in soccer who may or may not have dated a coke-dealing hooker at one point in his life — did not play exceptionally well throughout the tournament, scoring only one goal which was more or less a garbage goal to run up the score against North Korea.

A short video clip shows him spitting in the direction of a cameraman after the loss.  You can be the judge as to whether he was spitting on the person holding the camera or just looking directly into the lens at the time he chose to hock a loogie, but he makes it look pretty intentional.  Check out the video of Cristiano Ronaldo spitting toward or at a cameraman after Portugal lost to Spain:

Perhaps he was expressing his displeasure with the officiating throughout the World cup.  Maybe he was just clearing his throat.

Greatest Job of All-Time?

OK, so I’m a little hazy on all the details here, but as far as I understand things, Manchester United player Cristiano Ronaldo has a notorious lady friend. The girl in question is 26-year-old Brazilian hottie, Fernanda (do any of them have last names??), and apparently in addition to banging Ronaldo, she also peddles coke and serves as a hooker in her spare time. Sports by Brooks alerted me to the story that was uncovered by News of the World. Now how did News of the World confirm this story? That’s where this greatest job ever stuff comes in.

Apparently one of their writers was assigned the duty of pursuing an evening with Fernanda. He got her naked, got her to offer coke, documented the whole thing on video. He even got her to bring a friend, with whom Fernanda put on a show. Honestly, if this is what undercover reporting is all about, sign me up. Does anyone have a job application to the World? I’m not even joking. What I wouldn’t give to have an assignment where I’m getting a hooker naked. To see the whole documentation of the evening, including a NSFW pic of Fernanda, visit the News of the World site. Link includes NSFW pic. The pictures of Fernanda below however, are safe for work.
